Matisse Ocean Front Restaurant

The restaurant has a lovely setting for a beach wedding, which is what we had. There is a two level deck leading to the beach which provided places for people to sit and enjoy the view. The staff is friendly and professional. The hors d'ouvres were quite good as were most of the main dishes on the buffet. Service was excellent. It is a perfect place for a small inimate wedding. We had 70 people.

It was the best wedding I have EVER been to. When I first spoke on the phone to Mary, I asked her if she knew of other venders, florists, photographer, etc. because I'm an out-of-state bride getting married in an area I'm not familiar with. She told me, "I can make this effortless for you." And she did. This is the first, and only venue we visited because 5 minutes after walking in the door we were sold. "Can I give you my credit card," I asked?Let's talk about how amazing Mary is -- she had brilliant ideas that my guests loved, for example, I didn't know baby powder got sand off feet, so she suggested little travel sized baby powders and washcloths in sand buckets. The day of the wedding, she bribed my ring bearers into perfect behavior with Sponge Bob Square pants popsicles. And when I cried all through my ceremony (that mascara was NOT cry-proof after all) she whisked me into the rest room, cleaned off my face, and then went and got powder and redid my make up.The venue was absolutely beautiful, the windows all face the water. And my guests LOVED all the food. I love all the little touches -- from the fabulous sea shells on the cocktail hour serving trays, to providing me with the square glass jars filled with sea shells (popped a gerber daisy in) to help check centerpieces off my list.Mary and Jamie are phenomenal. My guests can't stop talking about the wedding. I'm not the only one that feels that it's the best wedding I've ever been to. Everyone had a blast. I never expected to be one of those, my-wedding-was-the-best-day-of-my-life brides -- but because of Mary and Jamie, I am. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh, and if you can stop in for brunch, the Frosted Flake French Toast is amazing. (But we served the Ahi Tuna... I was astonished to learn that at Matisse, an eggs and waffles buffet, would cost as much as a seated meal that my guests devoured.)

Matisse was the perfect place for our beach wedding. The food was amazing, you cannot beat the view and it provided the perfect intimate setting for the occasion. Jamie and Mary are so helpful and made the planning easier on us!

Jamie was very helpful and recommended vendors for cake, flowers, officiant, and liquor. Their professionalism is unmatched. On the day of the wedding they took care of everything and helped keep us to the timeline of events we had discussed. I was able to hook up my ipod to use in place of a DJ and save the cost of a DJ. It is the most beautiful location I have ever seen and you can have the ceremony inside or outside on the beach. Their back deck opens up right onto the beach, and even inside has wall to wall windows so the view is amazing. You can't beat this location and the staff is very attentive. Having an afternoon wedding will save much in the way of cost.
