Moghul provided the dinner for our reception and the food was amazing! Our guests, even those who are not used to Indian food, loved the food so much that they talked about it well after the event and admitted to not wanting to stop eating! Thanks, Moghul!

When we started looking for wedding venues and enquired about their preferred vendors, we were surprised that each and every one of them recommended Moghul for Indian catering. And we went to check out at least 25 venues.
We tasted Moghul’s food at a friend’s wedding and we knew why. There was no deterring us from the decision to hire Moghul Catering and I am really glad we did.
The food was amazing, the salad decorations were beautiful, plus the staff prepared the authentic Karnataka Badam milk, Kosumbari and Bisibelebath so perfectly. It’s been two weeks since the wedding and our guests are still talking about the food, especially the Kulfi with rabdi at the reception.
Rajeev, Betsy and Hemangi worked with us deligently, guided us through the food tasting, created appetizers on the fly for us to select. They even arranged for sweet pan that was requested less than a day before the wedding.
Venue owners were so happy with the way their kitchen was used, the cleanliness and the perfect orchestration by the Moghul staff and particularly Betsy for the wedding day arrangements.
We really appreciate the time, effort and creative details the staff put into our wedding.

This was our post wedding reception. The food caterer provided the best in class service and quality. Even though the banquet facility management was not very friendly Mogul caterers put up with that and executed the food service in an outstanding manner. I commend the event managers Rajiv Sachdeva and Betsy Mathai for their extraordinary service at our wedding reception. Our order had to undergo some last minute changes, Rajiv was flexible and delivered what he promised.

As a resident of NJ, I was not surprised to find that every wedding venue we spoke to had Moghul Caterers as one of their preferred vendors. After working with them for our wedding, now I understand why!
From the beginning. Moghul was one of the easiest vendors of all that we were working with, they responded immediately with everything we asked, and were warm and friendly along the way!
At the food tasting, we were all made to feel at home, and enjoyed spending time with Betsy, as she helped identify food selections that suited each one of our varied tastes. I was SO glad to see her the night of our reception, and she really went out of her way to make sure me and my husband had the change to enjoy our meal. I enjoyed working with Moghul and recommend them highly!

Moghul catered our wedding reception. We worked with a number of people at Moghul and all of them were prompt and professional. Our main contact was Payal Mehta and she was very accommodating and helpful. A number of our guests had dietary restrictions but Moghul was flexible enough to work with us and make recommendations about what appetizers/entrees would work best for our guests. Ultimately, our guests simply raved about the tastiness and freshness of the appetizers and dinner. We had a wonderful experience working with Moghul, and I will recommend them in the future.

From the initial food-tasting to the actual event, Moghul staff, especially Payal mehta delivered great food with great service. Always there when we needed them. Made for a very enjoyable event where the food was appreciated by everyone. there lamb chops and salmon tikka are outstanding appetizers, wonderful lamb biryani, and the desserts were just mouth watering, especially the mango mousse.

Both Punjabi food and Gujarati food is excellent. Every guest praise the food.we have selected the venue where this catering company is contracted. The manager Payal Mehta suggested few changes which enhance the menu more. Their service was so excellent that there was no lines at all. They decorated tables with fruits even without asking looks real professional. I recommend this company 100% to everyone.

Guests loved the food.
Everything was excellent.
It is extremely hard to serve hot tandoor bread to all guests at the same time. That need to be addressed. The food tasting place ambience appears very average but catering service is outstanding.

Moghul did a fabulous job for our wedding. With so many big events to cater, combining Indian and Mexican culture, picky family members, and so on, Payal Mehta handled it perfectly. She helped us pick unique menu's for each of our events, and she didn't stop until she was able to find the perfect fresh tortilla to make sure my husbands family would be satisfied!
All our guests still talk about our events and the amazing food we had. And they were all very impressed with what a great job was done for all the non-indian food items.
Not only did she over see everything so well, Payal made sure that she personally made mine and Geoff plate at each event.
Moghul will be my first choice for any future events in my family!

Moghul continues to push the envelop with new and creative ways to present their foods. They were able to provide a wide variety of foods for everything from our engagement party to pre-ceremony lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, and Viennese desert presentation. Our wedding was quite large, but Moghul provided exceptional food with impeccable presentations and service. They even managed to provide French service (instead of the traditional buffet) despite being told by our venue that it would be too much work. We were so happy to be able to serve our guests a mixture of both familiar and innovative, creative foods. Everything was fantastic!

We wanted our wedding menu to be a good blend of American and Indian , and Moghul was recommended to us as a preferred vendor for the Indian catering.
Moghul has a vast and delectable menu to choose from and they catered fantastically on our wedding day. Everything from appetizers to entrees was fabulous. Our guests were amazed at the quality and amount of food that was served. Everything was fresh and prepared with an attention to detail.
We want to thank Payal and her team for doing a fantastic job.

Writing this review as parents of the bride.
Payal did an absolutely amazing job at the wedding and the reception of our daughter. A very big THANK YOU to her and Sahil, who very ably assisted her.
The food at both occasions got raving reviews from the guests. Wish we could have the leisure to enjoy it too. It was exactly as we had tasted during the tasting events.
A special mention should be made about the well decorated Viennese dessert spread, which was a real reception treat for all of us.
Payal took care of every little detail and accomodated all our requests. She worked so hard to make the events a very pleasant experience for us and the guests and she absolutely succeeded.
Thank you on behalf of our family, Payal. You put in a great amount of effort and we are very grateful for that.

As a foodie and devout blogger on chowhound.com, the food served at my wedding festivities was just arguably more important that what I wore on my wedding day.
I think food and its elegant presentation is central to a successful wedding, one that is remembered for years. With Moghul Catering we could not go wrong. Kamal Arora and Payal Mehta were our caterers for our November 6, 2010 wedding and reception as well as a reception on November 2010.
Where do I begin? From the onset of securing their catering services, we were treated like family and assured that our event would be handled with full professionalism and service. In terms of correspondence, we were in touch about menu's, tastings and all things food-related on a consistent basis. Kamal and Payal made a trip to Westchester, NY to personally come and meet with my wedding concierge to walk-through, assess all details from dessert plates to buffet stations, and layout of the evening with full respect to our wishes and advice about ensuring a smooth sequence of events on our wedding day.
Our tasting was wonderful we had both families join and were impressed early on. Any changes were honored and their reputation and experience offered us tips on dishes within the Indian realm as well as the non-Indian specialty items for our menu.
Moghul caterers hosted a luncheon the day of or wedding, as well as our reception cocktail hour and dinner. The presentation and layout of each event was remarkable and exceeded my expectations. Both my husband I had plates of food delivered to our rooms while getting ready and this was so important for us and our bridal party. Our photographer had a field day with taking photos of our food presentation and all of our stations because they were that impressive.
During our reception, Payal Mehta came and personally delivered two plates of food as well as a special lamb vindaloo my husband requested. Albeit an emotional evening for me, when I saw she made the time to do this for us I almost teared up. All of our dishes had Indian names and explanations of dishes in English and this was very much appreciated by our non-Indian guests. From start to finish, they were amazing.
I will leave you with this if you are considering Moghul caterers for your wedding. My wedding guest book sign in had more entries about "The Best Wedding Food Ever!" than I could count.
Thank you Kamal and Payal.

From the food standpoint, you can do no wrong with Moghul ... the food was incredible, from the beginning to end - the layout, the presentation, the quality ... you name it. We have people STILL talking about it today about how amazing it was! When we first started, it was easy - easy to schedule tastings, emails were responded to, etc. However, a miscommunication between our hotel and our rep at Moghul occurred that was completely unrelated to anything my wife and I did. As a result, our rep at Moghul became EXTREMELY difficult to deal with. Emails went unanswered for weeks, and when they were answered, the question addressed was not even addressed. Any phone call followups were short, to the point, and we felt a palpable tension and we also felt she held us to blame for HER contract issue with the hotel. Bottom line, the food is incredible and you will be amazed on your wedding day. However, be very careful with your service provider. We started of on such a great start and we were sad that somebody could be so petty and passive aggressive because of something she messed up. These guys are the best and they know they're the best so you will cough up some money, but their flexibility and end product is worth it.

We're still getting compliments--6 months later--on the food at our wedding, so we'd definitely recommend Mughal for the quailty of its food and its on-the-day service. They have an extensive menu to chose from and were willing to adjust to our tastes.
Their rep is at times pushy and not always easy to get in touch with, but we were happy with the end results.

The food from Moghul was simply fantastic! Our guests raved about it. From beginning to end, the entire day was perfect. Our wedding took place in Connecticut on Memorial Day weekend, and in spite of traffic, the team from Moghul showed up on time. Sahil Desai was fantastic as was Rajeev Sachadev- they took our requests to heart and delivered fantastic food. Gorgeously presented and tasted fabulous! Moghul may cost slightly more than other Indian caterers, but they are worth every penny!

Moghul catered our wedding on April 10, 2010 and they did a great job! Not only was the food excellent but the presentation was great also. We have only heard good things from our guests about the food. Our event manager, Payal Metha, was also great. She took all my calls even though I called multiple times closer to the wedding and was able to accommodate some special requests for certain items. Our indian and non-indian guests all loved the food and I would definitely recommend them.

We'd heard good things about Moghul's wedding food through the grapevine, and the rumors are true -- Moghul's catering service is amazing! We've had numerous guests tell us that this was the best wedding reception food they've ever had (we've heard this even from people who don't like Indian food). Their cocktail stations are especially good, and the options include stations that make fresh dosas and chaat stations. We had a tasting with another Indian caterer, and the experience at Moghul was much, much better. Subhash, our catering manager, was extremely personable -- at our tasting, we sampled a number of dishes we'd requested ahead of time, and when we wanted to try additional chaat dishes we hadn't considered before, he went out of his way to create an approximation of them for us. He accommodated our special food requests (e.g., substituting lassi for dessert) with no problem. At our reception, I even saw him cheerfully taking pictures for some of our wedding guests who'd apparently roped him into doing that. It did take a while sometimes to get responses on emails, but everything was set in place in plenty of time for the wedding. I've heard that Moghul can be expensive, but luckily it was one of the vendor options at our venue, so the catering cost was included in the overall venue cost.
