Picnic

Spoke to Christine and she said she would get back to me...was driving and asked if I would send an email with my contact info. Never heard back. Called and left two voice mails....nothing- not an email reply or even a phone call. Got a call 5 mins after posting this...

Christine was amazing. The food was unique, freshly prepared, seasonally appropriate and cooked beautifully. She called at least twice a week the 3 or 4 weeks prior to the wedding, making sure my vision of my wedding and her understanding of food preparation and food service created the perfect event. Then, the weather threw a curve ball. My outdoor cocktail hour had to move into the same room as the reception because of 40F rainy weather. The transition from cocktail hour to dinner occurred so quickly and professionally we barely noticed it happened. Christine had to cook in tents outside and all of the dinners came to the tables warm, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our waitress forgot I was alcohol free and brought an incorrect entree to the table and that's the only reason the event was not 100% perfect. I would go back to picnic for any event I needed catered.

My husband and I simply canNOT overestimate the positivity of our experience working with Christine of Picnic Catering. From our very first meeting, she was a responsive listener, full of creative ideas that accurately matched our preferences, our overall vision and our budget. She was knowledgeable and honest without ever up-selling us or pushing us away from anything that we wanted. This was true not only in discussing food options but also in coordinating rentals, which she handled like a dream - setting up the delivery, negotiating discounts, and literally going point by point through our rental bill with us, pointing out places where we could save and breaking out how much each change would impact the feel of the meal and the final price tag - what more could we have asked for!? Our particular event was a backyard party with an upscale feel and Christine's STUNNING edible centerpieces on sage green burlap runners fit the bill. Our guests were awed by the elegance of our tables and are still raving about the food now - more than a month after that night! Wedding food can be so forgettable, but Picnic's commitment to using only the freshest of ingredients (including tomatoes and squash grown in Christine's own garden!) and their attention to taste and style made ours unique and a real joy for our guests. And if all that wasn't enough to make us fall completely in love with Picnic, Christine's extraordinarily personable, professional staff put us over the top. From the moment her crew descended on my parents' home, they made immediate friends with the other vendors and my family members, set up with stress-free efficiency and took it upon themselves to do things like lighting candles, replenishing oil in torches all night long, even making a fire in the fireplace and seeing to it that all of our closest guests as well as the photographer, the band and the DJ had a chance to eat and drink and enjoy themselves. More than one guest commented with amazement that they were never left standing with a dirty napkin, empty champagne glass or used satay stick during our cocktail hour where we had 10 passed hors d'oeuvres. And during dinner, our most jaded NYC guests remarked that they could have been dining at Le Bernardin and enjoyed the same quality of food and excellent service. Our least jaded guests, the kids, equally enjoyed themselves! We will positively be calling Christine for all of our future events and sincerely recommend her to anyone planning an event where they'd like the food to be really special.

Any expectations we had were far surpassed by the attention to detail, incredible food, and exceptional service. We've had guests from our wedding tell us time and again that it was the best food from any wedding they've ever been to. Christine listened to our ideas with openness and made thoughtful suggestions based on her years of experience, resulting in a fall wedding feast that was second to none. Without reservation, we highly recommend Picnic Caterers for any event.

THIS CATERER IS AWESOME. We just had our first child, and we will be using them for her first birthday as well. The food is AWESOME. You will not be disappointed. AWESOME!
