When I first met with Eileen Barnetti, the sales manager who is in charge of weddings, she said to me"Don't worry about anything!" How right she was. Not only did she guide me through the process, but gave me some wonderful ideas as well. As for the reception, it was spectacular! The whole experience, the food, service and staff at the Breakers exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend The Breakers!

I used Wedding Wire from the moment I got engaged this site is a great help; therefore I hope anyone in South Jersey who reads this considers the venue I used!
My Husband and I were married on Friday July 29, 2011. Our ceremony was in the gazebo overlooking the ocean in Spring Lake, N.J.
Our reception was held right across the street at The Breakers. For those of you that are not familiar The Breakers is one of the most Beautiful Hotel and reception venues a Bride could ask for.
The hall is richly decorated; the staff extremely pleasant; professional and friendly The food is fabulous! We had an outrageous cocktail hour with many different choices! And the dinner served was delicious!
My mother was very ill and wheelchair bound on the day of our wedding. The staff went above and beyond to make my mother as comfortable as possible. Three weeks after the wedding; when they heard my mother had passed; they called me to wish their condolences.
The Breakers not only offers a beautiful wedding; but they treat you like family! If you want a Wedding day you will never forget I would strongly recommend The Breakers In Spring Lake! Lisa & Greg Felise

The Breakers was everything you heard, read, saw and more! The wedding coordinator was responsive and attended to our questions, concerns and indulged multiple visits to the site. The staff was very attentive and lovely, the guests enjoyed the beauty of the site as well as the luxury and comfort felt from the attention of the staff. The whole venue exceeded our expectations in appearance, cleanliness, attention and elegance. The location is perfect. We had our ceremony on the beach across the street, our cocktail hour on their lovely wrap-around porch and our reception in their Crystal Ballroom. The staff was friendly and willing to do everything needed for full enjoyment by all in attendance. The bartenders were awesome! They managed the guests very well. We had signature cocktails and they executed them perfectly. Our guests told us the food was great! There was revolving replenishment so guests were able to continuously go back for more. This was an amazing venue and brought our vision of our magical day to life. Our wedding planner created an amazing design which elevated the experience of this beautiful venue. All is all, the perfect location to have the most amazing wedding experience.

We were married and had our reception at the Breakers in September 2009. Shannon was our sales contact and Dona was our maitre'd. We had our ceremony in the gazebo across the street, so the Breakers was not involved in the actual ceremony, but they were very knowledgeable and helpful with questions we had regarding reservations or permitting for use of the gazebo. The Breakers did provide full service for our cocktail hour on the front porch, and reception in the Crystal Ballroom. We received nothing but compliments from our guests on the food, drinks, service, and beautiful atmosphere. Throughout the entire planning process, Shannon was helpful, attentive, and responsive, and we enjoyed working with all of the vendors she recommended (photographer, DJ, and florist). On the day of the wedding, Dona took care of everything and the day was perfect - I did have to worry about or take care of one thing. Additionally, the Breakers' wedding package was far more inclusive for the amount of money we were spending than several other vendors we researched in both the Washington DC and central NJ shore areas.

The Breaker's Hotel is an exceptional place to have your wedding and reception. The staff is very attentive and gracious. They were very accomodating to our needs and very professional. The food was outstanding and the price was exceptional. Everyone in the family is still talking about our wedding! We highly recommend The Breaker's!

A+++++++++ Let's just say any reception hall that has a sewing maching onsite is a PLUS. One of our groomsmen split his pants during the processional. The Breakers staff had a sewing maching on site and had it fixed in 10mins. They made sure that Bobby and I had food and drink all night. The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was just as great!

We always loved the Breakers when attending other weddings, and now know why others chose it. They make the process simple and don't hide costs... everything is upfront and included. Our planner is one of the sweetest people, and was a calming presence. The Maitre'D Dona is the greatest. Her and her staff made sure the evening transitioned through each phase seamlessly with us not having to think about anything outside of ourselves, family, friends, and our wedding day.

Great wedding! Beautiful pictures across the street. Ceremony was short and beautiful. Cocktail hour on the porch was refreshing and beautiful. The Seashell room was beautiful, perfect for an afternoon wedding.

Terri was a pleasure to work with as she was always available. The room was amazing, and the staff did a great job. I am very happy I decided to have my wedding reception @ The Breakers. I'm from the area, and the beach is my life, so to be able to celebrate across the street was breathtaking.

I got married June 12 (Saturday night) and worked with Terri. We booked well over a year in advance and she was responsive and accomodating to all requests, thoughts, concerns. We had a signature drink and cigar bar which I was happy we were able to do. Donna was our maitre'd and she was personable and had the evening scheduled to the T. She did not skip a beat! It seems she really has a passion for what she is doing.
Guests were impressed with the view and the food, which I was happy to hear. Usually wedding food isn't known to be "that good" wherever you go. But we had the Filet, Flounder and Chicken Franchaise as dinner options and most guests got the Filet. My husband and I had all 3 and loved every piece! Although a taste test before choosing would have been nice had it been an option.
The only issue is that Breakers does not take credit cards for the weddings so be preparred to pay cash or check, which is why its a 3 for flexibility and not a 5. This is a bit of an inconvenience. In 2010, credit cards should always be an option. Im sure they just dont want to pay the CC fees.
The hotels in the area required 2 night minimums after memorial Day, so we booked rooms at Tinton falls Marriott and had a tour bus/shuttle to bring guests from the hotel and back. this worked out perfectly as guests could eat/drink and not worry about driving. My husband and I stayed at Breakers since we had a very early flight out in the morning after the wedding.
Overall, fantastic experience and I'm sure if you have your wedding here, you'll be just as happy! Good Luck!

I absolutely LOVE Spring Lake & my husband & I were set on the Breakers from the very beginning. If I had to do it again, there is no doubt we would have had it here. The location is beautiful...ceremony at the gazebo & cocktail hour on the front porch is spectacular. We lucked out with a beautiful sunny day too.
We had a small wedding with 50 guests so we only had the option of the seashell room in the afternoon. It was perfect for us because we wanted a more intimate feel. The one con with this arrangement is that it is one hour less than a traditional wedding. Also, we did get the feeling that the other weddings going on at the same time had preferential treatment. It was also a little awkward running into other brides on our wedding day.
Food/Drinks: Delicious!...shrimp stuffed with crab is awesome
Wait Service: Very Good
Hotel Accommodations: We booked our wedding 6 months prior & there were little to no availability at the Breakers for hotel rooms (not their fault) but this did cause a problem for some of our guests. I don't recommend the Grand Victorian next door. The rooms are very tiny. Also, Doolan's is another poor choice for hotel rooms. Try some of the other B&B's in town.
Hotel Staff: Terri was very knowledgeable and responsive. Guest services, although professional, we did find to be a little bit inflexible. We wanted to upgrade the hotel room you get with the wedding to a specific room on our wedding night & we were told that we could not be guaranteed a specific room. Perhaps they were holding out for another bride & groom? Who knows but I wound up taking the room for myself the night before which turned out to be a really good idea. I woke up relaxed, ordered room service & had hair & makeup done all right there. It was perfect!
Cost: What we payed per plate was very reasonable compared to most places in Jersey.
Tips: There is no electric at the gazebo so let your DJ know in advance

First I have to say our wedding reception was a great success. Everything went so smoothly that night and all of our guests had a great time and loved the food. The Maitre'D Donna was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Leading up to the wedding was pretty stressful. The front desk staff rubbed some of our guests the wrong way. Be careful, if you pick this vendor, with your guest room situation. They are sometimes not clear about their policy and actually cancelled one of our guest's rooms. Other guests had similar problems and were not treated nicely by the desk staff. This stressed me out and made me think we were going to receive the same tiype of service the day of the wedding. That was not the case. Everything was great on our wedding day. Just be careful with booking and paying for guest rooms at this venue. They also do not take credit cards over the phone.

I began planning my wedding in January of '08, to be married in June of '09. I booked breakers right away in January. From the beginning, I thought it was a decent value, and the venue planner that was assigned to me, Terri, was so attentative and helpful. She would prove to be this way all the way up to the wedding. The manager was more than accommodating and really helped us out when it came to the rooms in the hotel. It was all perfect until three days before the wedding I recieved a phone call from the Maitre de. She had no involvement for a year and a half and now, three days before my wedding, NEEDED to speak with me-like I was not busy enough! We sat down with her and I was amazed... all she did was talk about her two kids-I could drop you ten facts about them right here. When it came time to speak about our wedding, all she did was turn down all the things we had planned, even things Terri had approved. She was rude while doing this as well. I brushed it off, nothing was going to upset my day. When we got there after the ceremony, my uncle (who made out card box) came up to me, pointed to the Maitre de and asked me "Who the Hell is that woman?", she completely bit my head off as I was setting up your card box. All night long I heard complaints from guests about how rude she was. "She yelled at me while she was shutting down the bar", "She was so rude and pushy while getting everyone into the room." The icing on the cake came when she found out that someone had served my 16 year old brother a beer. She flipped out so loud that three tables and the head table heard every word. I was mortified. Everything else was perfect at the breakers, they got the reviews from us that they did because of her... she was a witch. I heard of the breakers through a recommendation, they can be sure that they will not be getting a recommendation from me!!!
